House Board Positions are as follows:
Finance Representative: Responsible for being the Chief Financial Officer of the Residence, the primary liaison between the House Board and the House Accounts Coordinator, attend monthly meetings with the House Accounts Coordinator, shall give monthly budget updates at the first House Board meeting of each month, responsible for helping to budget for events in collaboration with the House Preisdent and Vice President, shall be responsible for completing reimbursement requests
Activities Representative – House Events and Intramurals: Responsible for receiving Event Review Committee training (ERC) in the fall, shall perform any duties delegated by the House Board with regards to house activities and events, assist the House President and Vice President in the organization of at least two (2) events per semester, shall promote house engagement and support of varsity sporting events, participate in the spirit of sportsmanship and fair play
Activities Representative – Health and Wellness: Responsible for receiving Positive Space Training Levels One and Two, work in collaboration with ‘X Mental Health Connections’ Society and the VP Residence Affairs to promote mental health intiatives on campus, responsible for encouraging members of the house to participate in their own practice of religion and/or spirituality, shall sit on the Food Service Advisory Committee, shall meet bi-annually with the Director of Health and Counselling, attend meetings as required by University chaplains.
Communications Representative: Responsible for promoting house events, organizing volunteers for events, planning fundraising initiatives for charit in collaboration with the House Charity representative, meeting with The U’s Full Time Communications and Marketing Manager as requested, communicating with CFXU and The Xaverian Weekly and posting house news on bulletin boards and other forms of social media.
Campus Equity and Sustainability Representative: Responsible for planning at least one inclusive training session for members of the residence (e.g. Positive Space Training, Bringing in the Bystander, Anti-Oppression Training, etc.), shall attend monthly meetings with both the International Student Representative and the Student Equity Representative, shall be responsible for a refundable program in residence and shall work in collaboration with the Environmental Society, finally they will voice concerns about inequitable and/or offensive house activities to the Students’ Union Student Equity Representative.
House Spirit Representative: Responsible for working alongside the Activities Representatives to promote house events, intramurals, and house pride, shall be responsible for organizing the house clothing order (including but not limited to bringing forward pricing, designs, and deadlines), shall work alongside the Finance Representative to collect payments for house clothing orders, shall support resident engagement in the various leadership conferences held on campus, which will be communicated through biannual meetings with the VP Residence Affairs, will plan and execute (alongside the House Board) at least one (1) positive rivalry event per term that is non-competitive in nature.
House Charity Representative: Shall be responsible for championing the residence’s charity of choice through promotion, student engagement and education, shall work alongside the House President, Vice President and Communications Representative to plan and execute two (2) charitable events per semester, shall assist with the campus “Trick or Eat” event in conjunction with the VP External Affairs and the Student Food Resource Coordinator, shall be the main liaison between the House Board, the charity of choice, and the Students’ Union.
